SpaceOps 94 Electronic Proceedings

The International Symposium on Space Mission Operations and Ground Data Systems is held every two years. The first symposium was sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA) in June 1990; the second was sponsored by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in November 1992. The third, chaired by Dale L. Fahnestock, Director of the Mission Operations and Data Systems Directorate, Code 500 is sponsored by NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). More than 800 specialists from many countries have registered for SpaceOps 94 to share their experience and knowledge with others engaged in similar activities.

The theme of the SpaceOps 94 symposium is opportunities in ground data systems for high efficiency operations of space missions. Systems that have been successfully implemented as well as those currently in planning or experimental phases will be described. Of special interest are techniques leading to improved system productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency; trade- offs between mission requirements and end-to-end system architectures; and new technologies and techniques for systems suited to future space missions.
