ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM

The international Symposium on Space Mission Operations and Ground Data Systems aims to foster technical interchange on all aspects of Space Mission Operations and Ground Data Systems, and to promote an international community of Space Mission Operations expertise. It has been held every two years since 1990. The last one was held at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) and attracted some 800 participants. This fourth Symposium is sponsored by the Deutsche Forschungsanstalt für Luft und Raumfahrt (DLR) and the European Space Agency (ESA).

A registration fee will be required from participants.

The theme of the current Symposium is: Global Operations for the next Century

The Symposium will take place in Munich, Germany. Two social events and a tour of GSOC will be part of the formal programme. Participants will be able to enjoy many cultural activities, museums, and historical sights in the Munich area. The Symposium takes place in the week before the Oktoberfest so participants staying for the weekend after the Symposium could visit this famous event.
