Welcome to the Spectroscopy & Modelling Group
at the Department of Infrared Technology

The Spectroscopy & Modelling Group focuses on the development of techniques to process and evaluate spectral data in the visible to thermal infrared region (400nm-13µm). We use field and laboratory spectrometric measurements as well as imaging spectrometer data.
The field instruments currently in use are:

The group played a key role in the specification and acqusition of the airborne imaging spectrometer and is now an integral part of the operationalisation and evaluation of this instrument, which is known as the: The SM group is responsible for the pre-processing, the radiometric calibration, the atmospheric and the geometric corrections of this sensor. We are working on geological and environmental application projects and we manage the Large-Scale Facility as which the DAIS 7915 was appointed by the EU,DGXII. Within our group Dr. Richter developed the ATCOR program package for atmospheric corrections of a variety of airborne and spaceborne sensors like AVIRIS, CASIDAEDALUS 1268, DAIS 7915, ROSIS, IRS, LANDSAT TM, MOMS02, SPOT and others.
